John Wesley School played host to a strong and physical Willesborough team, who left with all the spoils in a very tight game between evenly matched squads.

From the first whistle, it looked as if John Wesley were going to out pass and out play Willesborough, as they frequently opened up the defence, and several close chances eventually led to Josh scoring. After a mishandled ball, Willesborough levelled, but were consistently on the back foot as John Wesley continued to probe.

A beautiful team move was finished by Josh which began as Hayden gave a perfectly weighted pass to Lewis, who fed the ball to Kai and eventually Josh who put it past the Willesborough goalkeeper.

Kai narrowly missed out on another as his excellent strike was matched by the Willesborough keeper who pulled off another fantastic save to deny Josh following in.

With the score at 2-1 at half time, John Wesley looked good for the win.

However, Willesborough started as a new side after the half time break, and a cross form the right wing was put in to level the score. As both sides battled for domination, they frequently took turns defending and attacking, with an entertaining amount of end to end football. Finally, near the full time whistle, a corner for Willesborough was scrambled into the goal, and John Wesley fell behind.

Luck was not on our side this time, with the final score being 3-2 to the visitors.

However, what a fantastic game to watch! John Wesley show some real promise for future fixtures.
