Term 3 Connected Learning
This term, our learning question is: How do changes in our environment effect our choices?
Through our Connected Learning, we will be looking at natural disasters. Our focus will be on volcanoes and earthquakes and how these occur. We will be building on our knowledge and understanding of States of Matter in our science lessons; understanding the differences between solids, liquids and gases. As part of our DT, we will be designing and constructing a raft to escape an island which is linked to our guided reading text . In English we will be reading 'When the Giant Stirred' by Celia Godkin where we will be writing a first person recount of the story events. We are also reading 'Ariki and the Island of Wonders' by Nicola Davies where we will be learning about making predictions, developing our understanding of vocabulary and identifying ideas by summarising from more than one paragraph. In Maths, we will be continuing our learning on multiplication and division where we will start to learn short multiplication and division strategies. We will continue to build on and learn to recall our times tables mentally. Finally, in RE, we will be learning about the Gospels, where we will focus on the question 'What kind of world did Jesus want?'
