Term 1 Connected Learning

This term, our learning question is: Should Animals be Kept in Zoos?

Through our Connected Learning we will be looking at Environmental Regions around the World in particular where gorillas and apes live. We will be also looking at Animals including Humans in our science lessons. As part of our Art this term we are going to look and practise our sketching skill in order to draw real life plants and leaves. In English we will be reading 'Gorilla' by Anthony Browne, where we will be writing a narrative based on the story. We are also reading 'A Myth Hunters Travel Guide' by Tom Button where we are learning to make predictions and use dictionaries to identify the meaning of vocabulary.  In Maths, we are starting the term identifying the value of digits in Place Value. We will also learn about addition and subtraction later in the term.   Finally, in RE, we will look at the Understanding Christianity Frieze and explore the Creation story through the book of Genesis in the Christian Bible.
