Term 1 Connected Learning
This term, our learning focuses on 'What does it take to break a record?'. Our key text in English is Queen of the Falls which retells the story of Annie Edson Taylor, a lady who went over the Niagara Falls in a barrel. We will be focusing on writing to engage the reader, punctuation and writing in the correct tense by writing our own versions of the historic event. Our science learning this term focuses on forces which makes links to the idea of the barrel floating in the water and falling over the waterfall. Our Geography topic this term is North America, (where Niagara Falls is located) we will look at and located human and physical features found there and then compare a region to the United Kingdom. In DT we will be designing and making a prototype of a safety device for falling from a height like the record breaker free fall skydivers.
