 Term 2 Connected Learning

This term, our learning focuses on 'Where would you settle?'. Our key text in English is The Lost Happy Endings, which is based on traditional fairytales and focuses on adding description and figurative language to add imagery to our writing and develop the character and settings.  Our science learning this term focuses on properties and changes of materials, looking at how we can describe materials based on their properties, how materials can be changed and if changes are reversible or irreversible. Our Geography topic this term is settlements looking at different types of classification of settlements and using OS maps and aerial photos to identify types of settlement and features they have. In History we look at the Anglo-Saxon period of Britain and understand why they came and how they ruled across the kingdom.  In Art the term is ‘Dreamscapes’. Using illustrations from Craig Russell and Lorenzo Mattotti and the Surrealism movement, children will practice drawing techniques to create their own dreamscape. In RE we look at the question 'Was Jesus the Messiah?' looking at what was prophesied in the Bible and making links to Incarnation.
